In an effort to address the issue of declining membership in Jewish communities in Germany, the Central Council of Jews in Germany, in partnership with JDC ICCD, conducted an unprecedented nationwide survey in September – December 2019.
Customized to members and non-members alike, the survey aimed to examine attitudes towards the Jewish community, experiences in and with Jewish communities, and existing programs. A total of 2,716 submited completed surveys, making Community Barometer the survey with the largest number of respondents within the German Jewish community since 1945.
